Rocky the Rockwaller came back from the dead.
This situation happened 30-plus years ago when Michelle and Justin were in grade school. Justin had a mixed breed Rockwaller dog he named Rocky. It was on a Thursday afternoon and I was preparing dinner for that evening. Suddenly, I heard a tremendous thump outside and I just knew what had happened, don't ask me how I knew I just did. Rocky had got out in the road and a large work truck hit him. I called out for mike to go check and sure enough, there lay poor Rocky. Mike did not want to let Justin see him like this because Justin was only 8 years old and we knew he would be traumatized when he found out what had happened. Mike took Rocky's body off to somewhere nearby in the woods, I'm not sure where so Justin would not see him when he came home from school that day. When Justin got home we had to tell him what had happened and he was very upset. In fact, he cried so much that by bedtime I gave him a Tylenol PM so he would hopefully not have trouble going to sleep. The next morning after getting up for school Justin went outside to check on his other dog he named Pug. After a few minutes, he comes running back into the house shouting, "Sherry, Sherry, Rocky came back to life! I prayed to God last night to let me see Rocky one more time and he's here, he's here!"Imagine my shock at that moment, wondering what to say to an eight-year-old child about his dog. So of course I said what? You are kidding. And of course, Justin proceeded to tell me again how Rocky was just outside our back door. So he took me out there and sure enough, there he was. Poor Rocky had half of his face smashed in but he was standing there. I told Mike well you better take him to the vet and see if they can save him. Unfortunately, Rocky had sustained too much injury to his head so we had to put him down that day. This situation and story are for those of you who are raising your kids to know God and that he really does hear the prayers of small children.
